About

About Club Hachiko

An independent dog-care site built around one idea: owners deserve clear answers before anyone shows them a product.

Who runs this site

Club Hachiko is written and maintained by Tony Van, a website builder and lifelong dog person, under Club Hachiko Inc. I am not a veterinarian, and this site never pretends otherwise. What I do is the slow, unglamorous work most owners do not have time for: reading labels, comparing dosing math, checking what actually fits a normal household routine, and writing it down plainly.

Why "Hachiko"

The site is named after Hachiko, the Akita who waited at Shibuya Station for his owner every day for nearly ten years. That kind of loyalty deserves the same in return. Every guide here starts from the question a worried owner is actually asking, not from whatever product pays best this month.

How we choose what to recommend

Product comparisons on this site follow the same checks every time: ingredient and label clarity, a usable real-world dose, tolerance and mess in daily use, and honest fit — including saying when a product is the wrong answer and a vet visit is the right one. Several of our most-read pages exist specifically to tell you when not to buy something.

How the site makes money

Some links are affiliate links, which may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is the whole business model, and it is disclosed on every page that uses them. Details live on the affiliate disclosure page. Commissions never decide a verdict: the same product criteria apply whether or not a link pays.

What this site is not

Club Hachiko is informational and is not veterinary advice. Nothing here replaces an exam from a vet who can actually see your dog. When symptoms are sudden, severe, or getting worse, our guides say the same thing every time: call your vet first.
